AUTHORS INTERVIEW

What did you find most interesting or surprising during your research?
Greene: Someone once wrote - "ALL TRANSLATIONS ARE TRATIORS."

When I began to seek out the Greek words for "OUTER DARKNESS", I began to get a much better understanding of this term. The Greek word for "outer" in this term is simply - "the other side of the wall." Of what wall was Christ referring to? To answer that question is to understand the meaning of this term.

What focussed your attention on the theme of outer darkness?
Greene: I have heard this term taught as one of "after-life punishment" for years. I have also heard other Christians speak of being disturbed about this term. I decided to discover exactly what Jesus was referring to when he made this statement and I was "shocked" at what I found.

Was this a labour of love or scientific study?
Greene: This was a labour of love motivated by great concern over the fear I have witnessed in Christians through the years. I desire now to replace fear with peace and misunderstanding with truth. Jesus spoke in parables and symbolic language and when we read the scriptures with that mind-set we will see farther and understand so much more.

Did writing outer darkness cause you to challenge any of your beliefs?
Greene: It caused me to view the scriptures in a different light. Not just our subject but also other subjects in the scriptures. Most Christians do not read the Bible or study Greek to better understand it. The truths contained in the scriptures are to be found much like digging for diamonds in a mine. One must invest time and dig through dirt and worthless rocks to find the precious diamonds. Some Bible doctrines are like worthless stones and the truth is waiting to be discovered by those who will put forth the effort to seek. I don’t believe God is upset about people who question their beliefs - to live your entire life under lies, is sad thing.

What was most enjoyable about writing this book?
Greene: Unveiling Bible truths I have never heard nor seen before. To understand the Greek wording is to open up a "new world" of thought concerning the scriptures. One need not go to college to learn to read Greek. Go to your local Christian book store and buy a New Testament Greek concordance and you will begin a journey into a "new world" of thought. Every word in the English Bible can be found in the Greek concordance and it’s meaning.

Have you always wanted to be a writer?
Greene: I have wanted to write and publish a book for years. I now think I have something worth saying.
